Introduction
Simple and functional steering
Our steering systems are designed down to the smallest detail and are mostly sold by the same manufacturer as the axles, allowing them to be seamlessly integrated with our systems, while still allowing you to purchase them directly from us.
Thanks to our established sales support network throughout Europe, we have also always made the post-purchase phase extremely thorough and for every eventuality, allowing for a simple and functional experience in every single aspect.
Truck
Our truck system is an electronic-hydraulic device that allows the truck’s self-steering axles to be controlled in an easy manner.
Use
The truck system is particularly suitable for fitting to self-steering axles when not originally equipped with steering control. The ability to manoeuvre without the need to lock the axle is now a prerequisite for trucks.
Where it applies
It applies to any truck equipped with one or more self-steering axles when you want to control the steering during manoeuvring.
How it is made
The Retrosystem truck steering system is compact and practical to install. Its light weight and moderate size make it an excellent solution for any type of truck with three or more axles.
Which components to apply
Electronic-hydraulic control unit, direction and speed sensor, system activation sensor, axle locking sensor, sensorised hydraulic cylinder, front axle steering sensor, wiring harnesses, hydraulic piping (to be provided by the installer).
Semi-trailer
Our semi-trailer system is an electronic-hydraulic device with no element on the fifth wheel coupling tractor-semi-trailer/trailer that allows control during manoeuvring of the self-steering axles in a fully automatic manner.
Use
The semitrailer steering system enables control when manoeuvring self-steering axles: thanks to an innovative sensor system and intelligent software, the manoeuvring trajectory is calculated and applied in real time. It increases vehicle manoeuvrability when in automatic mode, and allows even more precise manoeuvring in manual mode, thanks to the optional radio remote control.
Where it applies
The semi-trailer system is our most popular solution. It is applied to every semi-trailer equipped with one or more self-steering axles. This includes telescopic vehicles, vehicles with lowered axles, vehicles used for transporting dangerous goods, etc.
How it is made
The Retrosystem steering system for semi-trailers is characterised by its light weight, ease of installation and compactness. Thanks to localised sensors and the absence of components on the fifth wheel coupling, it is not subject to failure due to coupling and uncoupling of the vehicle.
Which components to apply
Electronic-hydraulic control unit, direction and speed sensor, axle locking sensor, sensorised hydraulic cylinder, remote control (optional), wiring harness, hydraulic piping (to be provided by the installer).
BPW ARC - APP
The BPW ARC application is a convenient interface to the system available to everyone: it allows you to connect to the system and read its electrical status and diagnose the system, as well as configure it during the start-up phase. It also allows a technician to connect via the Internet, so that remote assistance can be provided quickly and efficiently.
